Director of Core Art/Senior Art XDev Manager

As Director of Core Art, I focus on the next level up, empowering the Core Art organization (including XDev) to expertly support the art needs for Star Trek Online.

As Senior Art XDev Manager, I was essential to helping the project achieve our goals by providing collaborative, creative and strategic solutions focused on delivering consistently high fidelity artwork while considering scope, budget, and timeline. Some of my contributions included:

  • Spearheaded, managed, and maintained an external art program to bolster the Star Trek Online (GaaS) development. Included role creation and team building, trust and relationship building, strategic partnerships, talent identification and acquisition, art testing, resource and packet building, mentoring, teamwork, project and task management, source control building, source control management, source control administration, budget management, contract management, negotiation, production, planning and scheduling, scoping, risk assessment, change management, identifying and defining best practices, processes, and pipelines fitting the needs of the project.

  • Organized and supported a network of project and studio/centralized artists to facilitate external art partners. Covered art production stages from concept through engine implementation and polish. Disciplines include concept art, character art (human/actor likenesses, critters/creatures, costumes, weapons) and ship art. 

  • Coordinated with interdisciplinary project leadership to establish aesthetic and technical standards. Developed processes and guidelines to uphold them.
